LDP Endorsements for October 24 Election

  • John Bel Edwards for Governor: State Representative for District 72, West Point graduate and a veteran who held command of a rifle company in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg. Catholic lawyer with a practice in Amite and a record of putting Louisiana first as a public servant in the legislature.
  • Kip Holden for Lieutenant Governor: The Mayor-President of East Baton Rouge Parish, and the first African-American to hold that office, elected with support from the business community.
  • Geri Broussard Baloney for Attorney General:  Attorney from Garyville, LA who founded an all-female, minority owned law firm in the River Parishes; extensive experience in governmental affairs, honors graduate of Southern and Loyola School of Law.
  • Chris Tyson for Secretary of State: LSU law professor, graduate of Howard University, the Harvard Kennedy School and Georgetown Law. Committed to ensuring fair and safe elections and bringing good jobs to Louisiana.
  • Charlotte McDaniel McGehee for Comissioner of Insurance: A Baton Rouge attorney with a practice in employment litigation and family law, would be the first woman to hold the office if elected.
  • Charlie Greer for Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry: An experienced Forestry Enforcement Agent who has served for 23 years, under two different Commissioners. Life-long public servant who has worked to support land owners across Louisiana.
  •  Carolyn Hill for BESE District 8: Social worker focused on mental health issues, seeking re-election after a successful term serving the people of Baton Rouge since 2012.
