That’s right — 2016 Democratic presidential candidate U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders will be at the 2015 J-J Dinner! Buy your tickets right now to see him there! (Tickets are going to sell out in the next few days! Tickets are available on first-come, first-serve basis.)
Sen. Sanders is serving his second term in the U.S. Senate after winning re-election in 2012 with 71 percent of the vote. Before that, he spent 16 years as Vermont’s sole congressman in the House of Representatives. You can learn more about him here.
Louisiana is not usually a state that gets a lot of early attention in presidential campaigns, and we’re thrilled that he’s taking time out of his hectic and packed schedule to add our state to his list of campaign stops. With great statewide Democratic candidates like Rep. John Bel Edwards, Mayor Kip Holden, and Prof. Chris Tyson, we need leaders like Sen. Sanders to help energize our base — and in return, we’ll send him cheers and positive encouragement to push on in the effort to re-elect a Democrat to the White House next year.
He also thinks the world of Sen. Klobuchar & Sen. Landrieu, and he’s humbled to join our celebration as we honor Sen. Landrieu for her decades of service to this state.
Join us in welcoming Sen. Sanders to Louisiana and our J-J Dinner on July 25. This event is shaping up to be a once-in-a-lifetime event!
