I’ll be there with all the other Democratic elected officials, party leaders and grassroots Democratic activist to party together to celebrate President Obama’s birthday and to celebrate our shared commitment to take our state back from the Republican extremists that are wrecking the public institutions that are at the core of our civic life.

Newark, NJ, Mayor Cory Booker

Newark, NJ, Mayor Cory Booker

We’ve talked about Governor Martin O’Malley being one of our featured speakers. The other featured speaker is Newark, NJ, Mayor Cory Booker.

What a dynamic leader! He’s overturned an old, unresponsive political order, attracted a multi-million dollar investment in public schools in his city from the founder of Facebook, started a social media campaign that engages local young people in the creation of video and other content about their city. He has totally infused Newark with a new energy that has lifted the city off its back and has it heading in ways not many people except Mayor Booker thought possible.

You can buy a table for you and your friends here!

When he’s not transforming his city through his leadership, Mayor Booker has been known to take matters into his own hands. One incident happened in late 2010, when a constituent tweeted the mayor saying that his father’s driveway needed shoveling after a blizzard. Mayor Booker tweeted back, asked for the address and showed up to shovel the driveway himself.

Then, there was the incident earlier this year, when Mayor Booker rescued a neighbor from a burning house, suffering minor injuries in the episode.

Oh! And he can — and will — speak!

So, you don’t want to miss this year’s JJ! Mayor Booker will be there! Governor O’Malley will be there! All of our great Democratic leaders will be there!

And we’ll all be looking for you! Order your tickets today by clicking the image below.

It’s going to be a great party for a great Party!

Sincerely,
