Pens Two Letters to Obama Administration Complaining District Not Receiving Enough Funding

BATON ROUGE — Despite professing his disdain for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and calling it “disastrous” and a “bad deal,” Bill Cassidy has penned letters requesting ACA funds on two separate occasions, according to the Times-Picayune  and the Advocate.

“Bill Cassidy says that he doesn’t like the Affordable Care Act, but his actions speak louder than his words and tell another story,” said Kirstin Alvanitakis, communications director for the Louisiana Democratic Party. “If the law is so ‘disastrous,’ why has he written several times asking for grants that the law provides? He either isn’t being honest with the people of Louisiana or he is confused on yet another position.”

This follows Cassidy getting caught with his hands on the scissors at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in October 2012 “celebrating” a $500,000 grant that was funded by the health care law for three health centers in East Baton Rouge Parish:
