I notice a lot of people complaining about the current condition in which Louisiana has found itself in, but that’s where it normally stops. They hope for change yet do not know how to be a part of that change. People continuously let their voices go unheard. They are often times voluntarily silenced.

I believe that Louisiana is full of Democrats that have either lost their interest in Louisiana politics or have become very discouraged by the fact that it seems the Republicans have taken over the state. I have found myself getting discouraged seeing Republicans taking so many high level positions in our state. However, I have come to the conclusion that I want to be a part of the Democratic Party’s comeback here in Louisiana.

Dem-voicesI will not just lay down and let our state be destroyed by Republicans who are only interested in filling their pockets. I would like to take a minute to urge everyone else to become a part of that change. Let’s turn our states future around.

I encourage every person in this state to keep in close contact with their State Senators and Representatives, US Senators and Representatives, as well as the Governor. Make sure that they know you are holding them accountable for the decisions they make that affect all of us. Let them know that you are insuring they are truly representing the constituents of Louisiana, and the parishes they represent. Let your voice be heard, get involved in your community. Let us always remember the words of Martin Luther King, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
