NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Democratic Party today launched “Campaign for Louisiana,” a project focused on securing victory for Democrats up and down the ballot in the upcoming 2014 election, and named Andrew Zucker as its communications director.
Campaign for Louisiana will work tirelessly to hold Republicans accountable for siding against the middle class while embracing policies that hurt Louisiana families and defend Democrats from false attacks leading up to 2014.
Zucker joins Campaign for Louisiana having worked on multiple successful campaigns. He worked for then-Senator Barack Obama’s campaign for president in 2008, and has since worked for the AFL-CIO as Ohio Deputy Communications Director and Ohio Democratic Party as Press Secretary. Most recently, Zucker worked as Press Secretary for Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey’s successful campaign for Senate.
“We are very pleased to have Andrew on board,” said Louisiana Democratic Party Executive Director Stephen Handwerk. “His experiences working on winning campaigns will help guide Sen. Landrieu and the rest of our ticket to victory in 2014.”
