President Biden, Democrats Deliver Major Bipartisan Infrastructure Win

President Joe Biden came into office promising to work across the aisle and bring the nation together to solve our toughest problems. Today, President Biden and Democrats delivered on that promise, announcing a historic bipartisan infrastructure deal.

President Biden joined Democratic and Republican Senators, including Louisiana’s Bill Cassidy, to unveil an infrastructure deal that creates good-paying union jobs, rebuilds our aging roads and bridges, and makes the largest investment in public transit in American history. The bipartisan deal also replaces 100% of lead pipes, delivers high-speed internet to every home, upgrades our power grid, invests in resilient infrastructure to combat climate change, and positions America to successfully compete on the global stage in the 21st Century.

“Today’s historic announcement is a win for President Joe Biden, Democrats, and most importantly, Louisianans,” said Louisiana Democratic party Chair Ketie Bernhardt. “This bipartisan deal will create good-paying union jobs for Louisiana families and upgrade our crumbling roads and bridges, as well as our decaying water infrastructure. President Biden negotiated with a bipartisan group of Senators–including Louisiana’s only working Senator, Bill Cassidy–to craft a deal that helps move Louisiana forward and makes America more competitive. It’s a big win for our state.”
