Louisiana Democrats Endorse Mayor Adrian Perkins for U.S. Senate

BATON ROUGE, LA – Saturday, the Democratic State Central Committee of Louisiana voted to endorse Army veteran and Shreveport mayor Adrian Perkins for U.S. Senate.

Louisiana Democratic Party Chair Katie Bernhardt released the following statement:

“We’re proud to stand behind Mayor Perkins today, and Louisianans will be lucky to have him fighting for us as our next senator. Adrian embodies the values of Louisiana: he’s hard-working, courageous, and has spent his career serving his fellow Americans and Louisianans.

“This is a challenging time for our people. As Mayor of Shreveport, Adrian is on the frontlines of this crisis and sees every day what Louisiana families are going through. He knows how critical it is to protect and expand affordable health care, support working class families, and put Louisiana first.

“While Adrian has proven himself to be a relentless advocate for health care, Bill Cassidy has spent years working to rip that healthcare away and taking vacations when our state needed him most. Louisianans are demanding a change, and it’s going to take all of us working together to make that happen. We’re looking forward to the coming months when Louisiana will send Mayor Adrian Perkins to the U.S. Senate and Bill Cassidy into retirement.”
