Louisiana Democrats Congratulate Vice President Biden on Winning Louisiana Primary

BATON ROUGE, LA – After an election with record-high Democratic early turnout, results show Vice President Biden winning Louisiana’s Democratic Presidential Primary. In total, nearly 63,000 more Democrats than Republicans cast their ballot in the primary and Biden received over 16,000 more votes than Trump.

“Congratulations to Vice President Biden on his decisive victory in Louisiana,” Sen. Karen Carter Peterson, Chair of the Louisiana Democratic Party said. “The overwhelming number of Louisianans who turned out to vote in the primary, even after its postponement, shows how energized Louisiana Democrats are to defeat Trump this November. Now, we’re ready to unite around Biden and send him to the White House.

“Now more than ever, we need a change in leadership to get our country on the right track. The current pandemic has shown the full incompetence and ineffectiveness of Donald Trump. At every step, his failure to prepare and lead our country through this crisis has cost American lives, jobs, and savings. This November, we need a president who leads our country with experience and empathy. We need Joe Biden.”
