Voters Can Contact the Louisiana Democratic Party for Assistance at the Polls

BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Democratic Party is urging voters in the 5th Congressional District to contact the Party if they experience any problems at the polls for the special election on Saturday.

“We encourage all registered voters of the 5th Congressional District to exercise their rights by heading to the polls tomorrow and choosing the candidate they want to represent them in Washington,” said Louisiana Democratic Party Executive Director Stephen Handwerk. “Volunteers with the Party will be on call throughout Election Day to assist voters with any questions or concerns they might have.”

For a Saturday election, the polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Voters who are already in line at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Voters that have a driver’s license or other signed photo ID should bring it to the polls and show it when asked by an election worker. If a voter does not have a driver’s license or other signed photo ID or forgets to bring it to the polls, he or she can still cast a ballot by signing an affidavit.

Voters can call the Louisiana Democratic Party at 225.336.4155 or send an email to voterprotection@lademo.org to request assistance or report issues at the polls.

They can also share their voting experience by Tweeting to @LaDemos with the hashtag #LA05 or leaving a comment at www.facebook.com/LouisianaDemocraticParty.

Voters can find their polling place or learn more about the Democratic candidates by visiting action.lademo.org/special.
