President Biden Brings Results to Louisiana in Advance of His Visit

As President Joe Biden prepares to visit Louisiana to tout his American Jobs Plan, Louisiana is on the mend thanks to Democratic leadership.

  • Louisiana has administered roughly 2.7 million vaccine doses, which is a more than 800% increase since President Biden took office.

  • Vaccines are now available to anyone 16 and older.

  • Over 2.8 million adults and 1.3 million kids received up to a $1,400 stimulus check from the American Rescue Plan, which is more than 90% of Louisiana families.

  • The American Rescue Plan lifted nearly 100,000 Louisiana children out of poverty through an expansion of the Child Tax Credit up to $1,600.

  • Louisiana has returned to 94% of pre-covid economic output, and continues to gain steam.

  • The American Rescue Plan delivered $3.1 billion in fiscal relief to the State of Louisiana and an additional $1.7 billion in local relief.

  • Louisiana schools received $2.6 billion in funding from the American Rescue Plan.

  • Governor John Bel Edwards recently proposed a $300 million investment in Louisiana’s aging drinking water infrastructure with funds made available by the American Rescue Plan.

  • 0 members of Louisiana’s Republican Congressional Delegation voted for the American Rescue Plan. Senators John Kennedy and Bill Cassidy, along with Congressmen Steve Scalise, Mike Johnson, Garret Graves, and Clay Higgins all voted against stimulus checks and child tax credits for Louisiana families, as well as funding for vaccine distribution, safe school openings, and economic relief.
