Louisiana Democratic Party Submits Public Record Requests Regarding Rep. Higgins’ Claim He Arrested “Several Thousand Men” in Louisiana

Baton Rouge, LA – Wednesday, the Louisiana Democratic Party submitted public records requests for the number of arrests made by Rep. Clay Higgins during his time working for law enforcement in southwest Louisiana. During the House Oversight Committee hearing Wednesday, Rep. Higgins bragged that he has arrested “several thousand men.”

“Rep. Higgins’ claim that he arrested thousands of men is hard to believe,” Stephen Handwerk, Executive Director of the Louisiana Democratic Party said. “If it’s true, it’s an inappropriate boast for a man who used unnecessary force and lied to colleagues during his time as an officer. If it’s a lie, he’s a hypocrite. Either way, Higgins continues to embarrass the state of Louisiana on the national stage. We’re looking forward to finding out the truth.”

You can find a copy of the video of Rep. Higgins during the Michael Cohen testimony here.
