New Orleans, La. – On the nineteenth anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act, Campaign for Louisiana Communications Director Andrew Zucker denounced Bill Cassidy for voting against reauthorization and turning his back on Louisiana women and families:
“When presented the historic opportunity to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, improve domestic violence protections and help provide millions for Louisiana organizations that support survivors, Bill Cassidy voted ‘no,’ turning his back on women and families of our state. Bill Cassidy’s opposition to the Violence Against Women Act is insulting to the thousands of victims across Louisiana who have been protected under the law, and on its nineteenth anniversary he ought to apologize for voting against it.”
