Louisiana Democratic Party Announces Results of District Level Delegate Election

BATON ROUGE, LA –  Tuesday, the Louisiana Democratic Party counted ballots and released the list of ranked candidates in the District Level Delegate election. District Level Delegates will join Louisiana’s delegation to the Democratic National Convention.

The District Level Delegate election was held as a “Pre-Primary,” prior to the July 11 presidential primary. Delegate candidates are ranked by their total votes from the results of the vote by mail election. As delegates are awarded to presidential candidates from the results of the presidential primary, District Level Delegates will be selected based on their total votes.

Louisiana’s 35 District Level Delegates will join the delegation at the Democratic National Convention the week of August 17. More information on the delegate selection process can be found here.
